Prayer Room PDF Print E-mail

The Prayer Room provides an ideal space on campus for students to pray their daily prayers between classes without having to return to their rooms or find another private location. Besides being a prayer space, the MSA Prayer Room is also used by many students for a variety of other reasons, ranging from weekend Quran classes to quiet study sessions to board game extravaganzas. The Executive Board also holds its weekly meetings in the room.

Location:

The MSA Prayer Room is conveniently located on the lower level in the Bryan Center on West Campus and can be accessed by Duke students 24/7. The prayer room at first seems as if it is tucked away in the hardest-to-reach corner of the BC, but hopefully these directions will help you in finding out that its hidden in plain sight. To reach the MSA Prayer Room:

  1. From the Plaza entrance to the Bryan Center, proceed down the stairs in front of you to the Intermediate Level.
  2. Go right, towards where the ATM machines and PO boxes are located, and continue out towards the doors at the end of the walkway.
  3. Immediately outside of these doors is a greenhouse structure; enter here and proceed down the stairs.
  4. Directly underneath these stairs is the door to the Offices of Religious Life (not Cable 13). Enter through this door. During afterhours, you will need to have DukeCard access to enter.
  5. In this hallway, the Prayer Room will be the second door to your left.

Alternatively,

  1. From the Science Dr. side of the Bryan center, walk towards the entrance to the Bryan Center
  2. Instead of entering from the top floor, find a set of stairs down to the intermediate level of the Bryan Center.
  3. You will not want to enter the Bryan center, instead enter the greenhouse looking structure and go down the stairs. Proceed to steps 4 and 5 from the previous directions.
